Isobaric vapour-liquid equilibrium boiling temperature measurements have been determined at 101.3 kPa as function of composition for the binary mixtures of nonane with octane and octane with orthoxylene and metaxylene by using a recirculation type apparatus. The experimental temperature, vapour and liquid composition (T-x-y) results were correlated with the NRTL and UNIQUAC models. All systems studied here behave like non-ideal solutions.
The present study was carried out to investigate the phytochemical constituents, in vitro antioxidant potential and anthelmintic activities of Eranthemum capense Linn. The dried powdered leaves of Eranthemum capense Linn were extracted using petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate and methanol using a soxhlet extractor and preliminary phytochemical screening was performed using standard protocols. All the extract was evaluated for their potential antioxidant activities using test such as DPPH, hydroxyl radical and superoxide anion radical scavenging abilities. Anthelmintic activity of extract was screened in adult Indian earthworm model. Preliminary screening revealed the presence of bioactive compounds especially phenolics, tannins and steroids in all extracts. The paralytic (11.22±0.260) and death time (28.10±0.885) of methanolic extract was found to be significant (P<0.05) when compared with paralytic (5.30±0.134) and death time (11.35±0.431) of standard albendazole at 100 mg/ml concentration. The results of the present study indicate that the aerial parts of Eranthemum capense Linn exhibited strong anti-oxidant activity and possess significant anthelmintic activity and thus it is a good source of antioxidant and anthelmintic constituents.
Tooth loss among children will lead to various complications during the eruption of permanent tooth. Hence, there is always a need for the retention of primary teeth. Pulp infection is very common among children which may lead to loss of their canine or molars. Zinc oxide Eugenol cement is the most widely used obturating material by paedodontist. Another widely used material used for filling is Calcium Hydroxide. Metapex is a commercially available obturating material, which is a paste of CaOH and Iodoform. It is having antibacterial activity and is used as a filling material. In the current study Honey and Sesame oil were used in the place of eugenol as an obturating material. Honey and sesame oil were mixed with ZnO and CaOH separately and the antimicrobial activity was studied against Staph. Aureus, Strep. Mutans, E. feacalis and Candida albicans. From the current study it can be concluded that plain Honey and Honey in combination with ZnO and CaOH can be substituted as an obturating material. It was found that metapex and eugenol had a lesser zone of inhibition than both Sesame oil and Honey and also when in combination with ZnO and CaOH. The side effects of using naturally available obturating material will have a lesser side effect. However, in vivo studies may be carried out for further research.

A novel series of naphthofuran C-2 coupled diamide and 3, 4-dihydrophthalazin-1(2H)-one analogues (3-8) were synthesized by multi step reaction. The synthesized compounds were characterized by spectral analysis. Analogues were exposed to in silico ADMET studies were carried out to identify drug likeness. Molecular and pharmacokinetic properties of the entitled derivatives were calculated to predict the bioactivity score. The molecules exhibited acceptable range in ADMET prediction and bioactive score. The ADMET study exhibited a less toxic nature and it encourages us to taken up for further screening of different pharmacological assays.
A new series of 5-(4-fluoro-3-methylphenyl)-3-(substituted aryl) isoxazoles (2a-2h) were designed and synthesized by the treatment of substituted chalcones (1a-1h) with phenylhydrazine. Reaction of 4-fluoro-3-methyl-acetophenone (1) with different aryl aldehydes (2) in ethanol was carried out to gain 1a-1h derivatives. The synthesized compounds were characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, Mass spectroscopy and bases of elemental analysis. The in vitro and in vivo anti-inflammatory screening of the newly synthesized compounds was performed using Human Red Blood Cell (HRBC) membrane stabilization method and carrageenan-induced paw edema standard technique, respectively. The analgesic activity was also performed using the acetic acid writhing test. From the screening results, it was found that the compound 2h showed increased potency with 74.09 % inhibition of edema and 93.4% of HRBC membrane stabilization. From the results, it was revealed that the synthesized compounds with groups like hydroxyl, chloro and bromo showed the most potent activity compared to that of standard drug, diclofenac.
In the present study, we evaluated anti-Parkinson’s activity of ethanolic extract of Sida Cordata leaves and stem in haloperidol induced experimental animal models. In this study, effects of Sida Cordata (200, 400mg/kg, p.o) were studied using in vivo behavioral parameters like catalepsy, muscle rigidity and locomotor activity and its effects on neurochemical parameters (dopamine, serotonine, and L-Glutamate) in rats. The experiment was designed by giving haloperidol in induce catalepsy to induce Parkinson’s disease like symptoms. The increased haloperidol-induced cataleptic scores were significantly (p<0.01) found to be reduced, with EESC at dose of 200mg/kg and 400mg/kg (ip). EESC administration showed significant increase in dopamine level and significant reduced in serotonin and L-glutamate level. Daily administration of EESC (400mg/kg) significantly improved motor performance. Thus, the study proved that Sida Cordata treatment significantly attenuated the motor defects and also increased the neuro chemical dopamine level.
The present study, undoped and MgCa co-doped ZnO NPs were successfully synthesized by chemical co-precipitation method without use of capping agent. The structural and morphological properties of pure and MgCa co-doped ZnO NPs were analyzed using X-Ray diffraction (XRD) studies, Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), Elemental analysis (EDAX), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and optical properties was studied by UV–vis spectroscopy and Photoluminescence (PL) spectra. The antibacterial activity of pure and MgCa co-doped ZnO NPs have been investigated against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacterial strains. It has been interestingly observed that MgCa doping has enhanced the inhibitory activity of ZnO against S. aureus more efficiently than the E. coli bacterial strain.

Lipid oxidation on repeated heating alters its chemical composition due to generation of various by-products which also affects its physical properties. To determine the correlation of accumulated total polar materials and generated free fatty acids with physical parameters, quality degradation of an unbranded mustard oil were evaluated after subjecting the oil to repeated oxidation through deep-frying of snacks- onion fritters and lentil fritters (split black-lentil fritters), separately without replenishment of oil for seven successive times, at an interception of 48 hours. Thermal stability indices investigated were colour, refractive index, viscosity, smoke point, acid value, and total polar material. With subsequent frying operation, these values increased in both items recording maximum deterioration in onion fritter-oil with an accumulation of sulphur from onion. Constituent of food items along with moisture acted as a vector in frying instability of oil.
Tablets are defined as solid dosage forms containing drug substance generally with suitable diluents and prepared by either compression or molding methods. Swellable matrices for oral administration are commonly manufactured as tablet by compression of hydrophilic micro particulate polymers. Therefore, the most appropriate classification for these systems is swellable matrix tablet. The physical characterization had shown that, all of them comply with the specifications of official pharmacopoeias and or standard references. Results of in vitro release profile indicated that formulation (F2) was the most promising formulation as the extent of drug release from this formulation was high as compared to other formulations. It was observed that tablets of batch F2 followed the Zero order release profiles. From the above results and discussion it is concluded that formulation of sustained release tablet of Isoniazid containing Guar gum (1.5%), Batch F2 can be taken as an ideal or optimized formulation of sustained release tablets for 12 hour release as it fulfills all the requirements for sustained release tablet.
